Adobe Photoshop Does Not Show a Scanner
Symptom (Mac OS X only)
Adobe Photoshop cannot find the scanner attached to the computer.
Cause
In order to improve performance, the scanning add-on for Epson scanners on the Macs can only work if Photoshop opens in a mode known as "Rosetta." You may scan outside of Photoshop and then import your scans into Photoshop, as described below.
Solution
Make sure that you are at a station that has a scanner attached to it.
- Open the Finder and navigate to the Applications folder.
- Double-click on "Epson Scan."
- Place your document in the scanner and use the buttons on the application to "Preview" the scan.
- Once you are pleased with the results, click on "Scan" to obtain the final image of the scan.
