Adobe Photoshop Does Not Show a Scanner

Adobe Photoshop Does Not Show a Scanner

    Symptom (Mac OS X only)
Adobe Photoshop cannot find the scanner attached to the computer.

    Cause

In order to improve performance, the scanning add-on for Epson scanners on the Macs can only work if Photoshop opens in a mode known as "Rosetta." You may scan outside of Photoshop and then import your scans into Photoshop, as described below.

    Solution

Make sure that you are at a station that has a scanner attached to it.

    1. Open the Finder and navigate to the Applications folder.
    2. Double-click on "Epson Scan."
    1. Place your document in the scanner and use the buttons on the application to "Preview" the scan.
    2. Once you are pleased with the results, click on "Scan" to obtain the final image of the scan.

If you would like to use the scanning features under Photoshop, please contact us through Support Central at http://support.ringling.edu; however, keep in mind that, once enabled, this will have a negative impact on the performance of Photoshop on your profile.
