Print Job is not Coming Out of the Printer / Job Prints Incorrectly

Print Job is not Coming Out of the Printer / Job Prints Incorrectly

Symptom
You send a job to the printer, but the printer does not output the job or the output is incorrect.

Cause
Several aspects of a workflow may not allow the printer to process the job properly. Please follow the troubleshooting techniques below to make sure the printer processes your job successfully.

Troubleshooting Step 1 (Adobe Products)
If working with files created in Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign:

  1. create a PDF first before printing;
  2. open Acrobat Reader (not Preview);
  3. click on "File > Page Setup" to choose your paper type and printer;
  4. click on "File > Print" to send the job to the printer.

Troubleshooting Step 2 (Printer Does Not Print)
Check your print limit and usage through Account Manager on the Campus Portal. If you have enough of a print balance to cover all your prints, please check step 1 above.

Troubleshooting Step 3 (My Work Prints with Strange Lines)
Make sure the printer is not in the middle of printing another job so you can turn the printer off. After a few seconds, turn the printer back on. This should clear up the issue. Contact us for a refund of the print by visiting our office during regular business hours. You will need to hand over the faulty print so we can make sure the printer is not damaged.

Troubleshooting Step 4 (The Printer Jammed and I was Still Charged for the Prints)
Contact us for a refund of the print by visiting our office during regular business hours. You will need to hand over the faulty prints so we can make sure the printer is not damaged. If the printer remains jammed, please contact us to let us know. DO NOT OPEN THE PRINTER YOURSELF as there is a risk of bodily injury when working with an open printer.
