Out of Office Auto-Reply

    Set up an Out of Office Auto-Reply

    Entourage

    The Out of Office Assistant allows you to automatically reply to e-mail messages while you are out of the office. Entourage does not need to be running for the reply messages to be sent nor do you have to log into the mail through a web browser. The AutoReply feature will notify each sender only once, even if you receive multiple messages from that person.

    To turn it on:

    1. Launch Entourage.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Out of Office.
    3. Click Send Out of Office messages.
    4. In the Reply to message with box, type the text that you want to include in your automatic reply.
    5. Click OK.

    To turn it off:

    1. Launch Entourage.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Out of Office.
    3. Click Do not Send Out of Office messages.
    4. Click OK.

     

    Gmail

    In Gmail, the Vacation responder can notify users who send you mail that you are out of the office and cannot reply immediately.

    To turn it

    1. Log into Gmail through the Campus Portal at http://my.ringling.edu.
    2. From the Settings, within Vacation responder, select the radio button marked Vacation responder on
    3. In the "AutoReply only once to each sender with the following messages:" field, type your away message.
    4. Click OK.

    To turn it off:

    1. Log into Outlook Web Access through the Campus Portal at http://my.ringling.edu using Internet Explorer on a Windows computer.
    2. From the Options menu, within Out of Office Assistant, click I am currently in the office.
    3. Click OK.

     

    Outlook

    In Microsoft Outlook, the Out of Office Assistant can notify users who send you mail that you are out of the office and cannot reply immediately.     3. Select the radio button marked I'm currently out of the office
    4. In the "AutoReply only once to each sender with the following messages:" field, type your away message.
    5. Click OK.

    To turn it off:

    1. Launch Outlook.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Out of Office Assistant... .
    3. Click I am currently in the office.
    4. Click OK.
