Adobe Software Serial Fix Fall 2017

    Adobe Software Serialization Solution - Fall 2017

    On December 1, 2017, users in our community started reporting that they are receiving a dialog box that says either "Sign In Required" or "Serial Number" when launching Adobe applications.  Details of these errors are summarized at the bottom of this page.

    We expect that this issue to affect Ringling MacBooks that were checked out before Fall 2017 began and have not yet updated their Adobe packages this fall.  We don't expect those that were handed out this fall or have already been updated to experience these issues.

    This problem is caused by an Adobe initiated serial number expiration that has unexpectedly affected Ringling College MacBook users that have not yet updated their Adobe packages this fall.  We have a fix that you can easily apply.  By following the instructions below, you can install and use the Ringling College Software Center to re-serialize your Adobe applications. 

    This issue is not affecting Ringling College academic computer laboratories.

    Please follow the instructions below to resolve this issue. As always, you are welcome to stop by Notebook Services and the IT Help Desk in the Goldstein Center for assistance.

    Fix the Adobe Software Serialization error:

    1) Install the Ringling College Software Center.

    2) Launch the Software Center

    3) Use the Adobe Serialization utility.

     

     

    What if you don't see the Adobe Serialization fix when opening the Ringling College Software Center?

    Please give a call to the IT Help Desk at 941-359-7633 or stop by the Notebook Services window on the first floor of the Goldstein Center (M-F 8:30am-4:30pm) for assistance.  Some users will only see a generic offering for Chrome.  This is an issue we can work together to fix.  However, it does require the assistance of a notebook services staff member to update a configuration item on the Software Center server.
