Course Shares: Connection from Windows Campus Workstations

    How to Access Course Shares from Windows 10 Campus Workstations 

    Note: These instructions will only work if you are using a workstation on campus in a computer laboratory or you are connected to the VPN.

    1. Click on the "File Explorer" icon on the task bar.

     

    2. Click "This PC" in the left sidebar.

     

    3.  Click on the "Map Network Drive" on the top bar and select "Map Network Drive" from the dropdown menu.

     

    4.  Type the share address in the "folder" field, in the following format (the share names are case-sensitive) and click "Finish." The drive letter is assigned automatically.

    \\classes.ringling.edu\CourseNumber_SectionNumber

     

    5.  Make sure you are in "Scholastic" domain. The username and password should be your Ringling logins.

     

    If you are not in "Scholastic" domain, you will need to add "scholastic\" in front of your username, like this:

     

    If you check the "reconnect at sign-in" option, the share will automatically remount  when you login and will be located in the "Start" menu, Computer section. You may disconnect from old shares if you right-click on the share and choose "Disconnect."

    How to Access Course Shares from Windows 7 from Campus Workstations (access expiring soon)

    1. Open the "Start" menu and click on "Computer."
    1. Click "Map network drive."

    1. Type the share address in the "folder" field, in the following format (the share names are case-sensitive) and click "Finish". The drive letter is assigned automatically.

      \\classes.ringling.edu\CourseNumber_SectionNumber

    1. Make sure you are in "Scholastic"  domain. The username and password should be your Ringling logins.
